(Day 1) Thailand Chiang Mai – Loy Krathong Parade, Club Infinity

To avoid the spectacular sky lantern launch at the Loy Kratong festival could be the reason why our flight timing was brought forward I guess. We landed in Chiang Mai International Airport at around evening 1830hrs instead of night 2300hrs by AirAsia flight.

Similar Tuk Tuk that we took from Airport to town at 50baht per person

Three of us shared a Tuk Tuk together with other tourists at 50 baht per pax from airport to town area . Tuk Tuk will drop-off the passengers along the way, after about 20 minutes of journey we reached our pre-booked guesshouse (Thapae Boutique House). Happily we went to the reception counter and only found out our booking through Asiaroom was not successful due to some miscommunication between Asiaroom and the guesshouse. The rooms at Thapae Boutique House was fully occupied for the night! At this peak periods of Loy Krathong festival, we got no choice but have to try our luck to look for another room nearby.

Furama Hotel

We were lucky enough and managed to get a room last minute in the help with our local’s friend Peng. The 4 stars Furama Hotel is located at the fringe of Central Business District.

Dinner at local’s restaurant

Located near to hotel Furama, the food served were delicious though we don’t know the name of the restaurant as everything there was written in Thai language.

Club Infinity

Welcome party at Club Infinity (local’s bar) with full of rocks music and singers performing in Thai songs.
